SpeciesPinanga tenella
LocalitySarawak, Malaysia
DescriptionThe island of Borneo is well known as a hotspot for palm diversity, with many small species that grow in the shady rainforest understory. This unusual dwarf palm grows only along streams and it shows many of the adaptations typical of other rheophytes (flexible stems and narrow leaflets that do not tear in swift flowing water).
