DescriptionMummified on the undersurface of a leaf, this noctuid moth has been killed and devoured by a parasitic fungus, similar to the well-known Cordyceps. The white filaments protruding from the body of the moth are fruiting bodies of the fungus which release spores to infect new hosts.
