DescriptionGiant Forest Ants tending to a leaf-footed bug (Notobitus sp.) from which they will receive droplets of honeydew. The bugs, which obtain more sugar than they need from the plant juices they feed on, are fiercely protected from predators by the ants. This mutualistic partnership thus benefits both species.
